So far it is working very well, set up was easy once we used the correct cable.
When I initially bought the T240 monitor, I was home more during the day, and there was a decent amount of light around the home. Bottom line, even tho this was a great monitor for doing internet and casual use during the day, it's not really that good with games, nor with Media Center when you're watching a DVD or TV over PC. So I went and traded this monitor in for the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP, and I don't regret that move.
Boy, was I disappointed to find out that it was only a TN-panel, I never knew that up until it was too late. However, it did start to get a little fuzzy as time went along. I always assumed that because it was a Touch of Color monitor, that it would have the same picture quality as their ToC HDTV line, which I have the LN46A750.
I have a far better monitor now, and it can handle low-lighting situations a whole lot better, and it does have that premium picture quality that I was really looking for.The T240 was a fine monitor to start out with, and it was good for certain tasks that I did more of during the day, and did handle motion well, as well as making the internet legible to use. It was always assumed that since this was one of Samsung's higher-end monitors, that it would've used their own S-PVA technology. Needless to say, now that I've been using it for a while, and now that I'm home at night, and work during the day, I've begun to notice that the shades of black were NOT deep at all, no matter how I tried to configure the settings, since I've been playing some games that have cutscenes, the black bars were too brightly gray.
Also, I started to hate that the monitor has to cycle through all the different inputs when you reboot your PC, that's as annoying as ever. Rating this a C+ for right now.
Stay away from this if you plan to use it as a wall-mounted TV. Thirdly, you will discover that you also have to buy addition cables to get your DVDs to play in color. Overall, this was not an easy install- it took a week and was frustrating to figure out what we needed and make it work together. Firstly, this only comes with an instruction sheet- if you want the user manual you'll have to google and download it. For the time and extra money you'll spend on the bracket and cables- buy something that comes with all the components- or at least states what else you'll need. Second, in order mount it to the wall, you will have to purchase THE CORRECT bracket. We bought this for our spare room, to watch TV while using the treadmill or to play video games. Forget the game system- we just moved it to another TV.
I found different types of brackets online- but the one we needed was found on someone else's recommendation. This bracket didn't quite fit either, and we had to do some welding to make it work. Mind you, both my husband and I have tech experience. As for performance, it's only been a week- but, so far the biggest drawback is the slow channel changes.
This monitor is so clear it is scary. If you have the 20000 to 1 contrast ratio monitor like me then it unfortunatly has no speakers but i have surround sound anyway so I could care less. I would rather have this picture than a lesser picture with crapy 10 watt speakers.
Everything is great except for dark screens. The finish of this monitor is great and the look is great.
It has an amazing, vibrant picture for everything except dark scenes. As some other noted.it does have some backlight bleedthrough around the edges.
Just received my T240 and got it setup and calibrated. However it is amazing as a computer monitor for work or web surfing.
Far more than I would have expected for a monitor of this price. I am pretty disappointed by that so I may not watch many movies on it.
Can't complain about anything else at this time. If you were planning on using this for watching lots of movies I would not recommend it.
